Silas Crabcoat at the Scoured Egg
Silas Crabcoat at the Scoured Egg
"As fall approached the Thousand Weed Marsh, many a person spent their evenings gathered at the Scoured Egg. With the hearth warm with a good fire, happened herring was offered as well as hot mugs of nutmegged fruit shrub syrup for all to enjoy. Mr. Crabcoat was known to partake a bit too much of both syrup and herring and he was oft known to exclaim his exuberant good will to those around him on these nights and to awake with a bit of a bricky throbbed-clock on the following mornings."
