It was a gloriously, lovely sort of day and William Chick was feeling not up to the pother of working. Father Bear was expecting him down by the mill that morn, but who can stay indoors on such a day as this? William took to sending a message to his employer with a rigmaroley tale of a case of an all overish state of intestinal sniffles brought on by too much work. With that bit of jiggery-pokery done, he then made with fishing pole in hand down to the marsh pond. What William Chick didn’t think of was that the pond was next to the mill he had called in sick to and was in direct eyeshot of Father Bear. Oh, William.
